This is being told to a Adam Clark Johnson it was written in the Register
News Sesquicentennial Feature. Part 1 The Casey Family
I have been told that Isaac Casey said his father and Uncle came over to the
Ocean and settled at Goldsboro NC whence they passed by successive removals
to South Carolina and Georgia. I dont think Uncle Ike said it. (If Uncle Ike
didnt say this who did ?)
Abner Casey was born and raised in county Tyrone in the north of Ireland,
married a Welsh woman and came to America.(now this means he was married
before he came to America???.)
locating on the Roanoke in VA near to Edmund Randolph- John Randolphs
father. (now did Abner come to VA first or Goldsboro NC which is in Wayne Co
NC or was Wayne Co NC part of VA at the time.???)
Abner Caseys children all born on the Roanoke were Levi, Moses, Randolph and
a Daughter.(no mention of Benjamin , Christopher, Jesse, William,John, or
James)
About the yerar 1750 or 55 he removed to South Carolina and settled in
Spartanburg district of SC where they remained until after the revolutionary
war.(Christopher b. 1731 was in Spartanburg SC on the Enoree river as of
1756.) Of Abner's children, Levi served as colonel in the war, and at the
return of peace, he was elected a general of militia.(not so sure that he
was a general anybody have proof my Duckett line also says he was a
Brigideir General. .???)
Hence he was always called General Casey.
