I am going to add some information on a William Casey I found this week
while doing some research. William ,but the location is not in Kentucky.
Book" Colony of NC 1765-1775 Abstracts of Land Patents Vol 2 by Margaret
Hofman has a William Casey in Tryon Co in 1773. A Thomas and a John Casey in
several land records as well. John Casey spelled "Case", one time in the
records William Casey is spelled the same , but the records show from the
land description and the neighbors that they are the same person. all of the
three are in the same area.
Tryon became Lincoln Co.

Stone in grave yard William Cazey 1767-1837
Have been told is father but no record of him in Law. Co.
cannot locate in NC or Va as yet. On deeds the s in Casey
has a tail and looks like a z.
TWO BROTHERS told to be sons:
Daniel Casey b. 1800 Stokes Co. NC d 1889 Law. Co. Ky
m.1 Mary Dyer b 1806 d. 1866 no children
( only a note with date of marriage),
m.2 1866 Rebecca Wilson Janes Goble (widow) b 1814
div. same year no children. marriage cert. said
unnamed father from HalifaxCo., Va unnamed mother, Patrick Co. Va.
James Casey b. 1805 (? think NC) d.1907 Lawrence Co. Ohio
m. 1835 Sarah Jane Dyer b. 1835 d. 1902
marriage record did not give names of parent.
Farmer in Ky , worked in steel mill in Ohio , had 10 children,
one of which was James W. Casey 1840 (no other info)
probable born in Ohio near Ironton. Could have died as infant or
moved away and left no trail.
Daniel and James were listed in the 1830 census
but were in Fallsburg, Lawrence Co., KY in the 1820s
but not listed in 1820 census.
They both got a land grant in data not at hand but 1835
at our home place which is still in the descendants name.
I'm hard pressed to prove this as can't find William in KY records.
We think he may have had more than one marriage and
James and Daniel a younger family. We haven't been able to
connect him to the William Casey in KY who was in the revolution.
Our buried William would have been about 10, perhaps to young.
The dates are different. But I'm seeing many Casey's
from Va. who came to NC then to KY as well as other parts
of USA. I found a marriage 11\10\1787 listed but no data between
William Casey and Sarah Taylor in Rowan Co. NC but haven't
any info on the children. This could be a possibility.
Hoping someone can make some connections.
