Just for what it's worth, the Jas. H. Casey in the 1840 Wayne Co., TN census
is beyond a doubt my ancestor (I of kit #45068).
Since a lot of this query is about a John Casey, I would recommend folks
look at the actual census images for 1830 where we find a Willis, Wilson,
and IRA Casey, because I've looked at the images and believe Ira _may_
actually be _Jno_ Casey (why is Jno. an abbreviation for John -- in other
words why does John need to be abbreviated?). I could be wrong, and I think
that this has been perpetuated by someone transcribing that census for us
somewhere online as Ira for all this time when it's actually Jno...
And some other BTW's: There are only 2 Caseys in the 1820 Wayne Co., TN
census - bothAbners. James H. Casey's Memoriam states he was born in SC
(Spartanburg) but was in Wayne Co., TN by 1820...of course he would have
only been 7 in 1820 being born in 1813...and only 1 of these Abners had a
male child of that right age... The 1830 census showing a Willis Casey is
interesting as Jas. H. Casey later names one of his sons Willis Casey (b.
1836)...making me think this Willis Casey is either is uncle or perhaps an
older brother (?)...
Well, just tidbits from me at this late insomniac hour...

I am curious about a John Casey that I recently found on the 1850 census
in
Wayne Co., TN and since you mention Wills and Wilson Casey I thought this
would be the time to ask a question.
There are 2 Abner Caseys shown on the 1820 Wayne Co., TN census.
According to Tennessee Land Grants a John Casey was granted a land in
Wayne
County in 1826.
Listed in the 1830 Wayne County census are a Willis, Wilson and Ira Casey.
In 1840 Wilson Casey and a Jas H. Casey (ancestor of David L. Casey Kit #
45068 ?????) are the only Caseys shown in Wayne County.
By 1850 the only Caseys in Wayne County are John Casey age 14, Elizabeth
Casey age 19 and Jane Casey 16, all living in the household with the
Henson Rey
family. Who were the parents of these children? By 1860 John Casey has
married
Sarah Battles and is listed in 1860 and 1870 Wayne Co., TN and by 1880 he
and his family have moved to Sharp Co., Arkansas.
This is not my line (mine is Jesse E. Casey kit #56874) - just rounding up
a
few stray Caseys! Any help appreciated.

Why do you think Dempsey maybe connect to the Pasquotank Co NC Casey's
??
Willis Casey was there in Pasquotank Co NC I think I found him in the
census, I believe Wilson Casey who died in IL is connected to Willis
Casey.
I would have to find my notes. This is my opinion. Need to compare some
notes on Willis Casey and Wilson Casey where we can find them in the
census.
I think there was also an Aaron Casey found with Wilson or Willis Casey
in
TN.

Marshall Co KY near where I live about 45 minutes from Union Co IL.
Paducah
Ky area. Tim
1850 census shows:
Abner Casey 64 years old b. SC
wife: Elizabeth 55 b. SC
children:
Henry age 17 b. KY
Abner age 15 b. KY
Willis age 12 b. KY.
Calloway Co Ky is near Murray KY south of Marshall Co Ky.
1840 Census Calloway Co KY
Abner Casey
Abner in 1840 and 1850 lived near Hix Ray and James Riley. I assume this
is
Abner Sr.
1830 CENSUS RHEA CO TN
Abner Casey
1820 Census Wayne Co TN two Abner Casey's on page
Abner Casey
there is a James Wriley which I take as James Riley.
Abner Casey
Same page of 1850 census Marshall Co KY
Levy Casey age 24 b. KY
Mary A. age 17 b. TN
Elizabeth age 1 b. IL
Note: :Aaron Casey who moved to Bond Co IL , he moved with many Warren Co
KY
families many my ancestors. He named a son Green Casey , Green Casey named
a
son Ira Casey, Ira is not a name handed down in the John Casey Drucilla
Hill
family.I believe that Aaron Casey was a brother to Wilson Casey , Willis
Casey , and Ira Casey. I also believe that the above Abner Casey is a
member
of the Aaron , Wilson , Willis and Ira Casey families. I believe Aaron
Casey
migrated to IL and then Wilson Casey came later as stated in family
History
of Wilson Casey came with brother in law Jonathan Halford.
In Walter E. Casey notes Walter asked his father Otto Casey if he was
related to the Casey family living next door his father replied NO. This
does not mean that Otto Casey new of the relationship but being neighbors
for years his father Samuel Casey may have new the answer;.
If some of us can dig deep in our research of all Abner's and Aaron's and
their whereabouts maybe we can find the answer. We need to check Tax
lists.
If anyone would have those for Wayne Co TN. or maybe Hardeman Co TN
something says I had seen a Aaron Casey there.
My notes lets stay on this more eyes or better than one. What does that
guy
say in the Movie Waterboy !!! You can do it. (grin) We can do this.
