Your major crashes should not be a problem if you regularly and
frequently back up your data with a full image of your hard disk. Store
a copy of the backup away from the building where your computer is
situated, e.g. in a bank vault, so that the data is protected from fire
and theft. I do this, using a removable hard disk. The cost of these
measures is peanuts in relation to the cost of losing expensive data.
Also, use Spy Sweeper. It got the highest marks in a recent ZD
comparison of spy sweepers. Also, read
