Shelly,
I could be related to these Caseys.
I am a direct descendent of Michael Casey, born Bloomsberg, Pa. around
August 1871. He was the son of Michael Casey born 1842 in Ireland and Maria
Fitzgerald born 1846 in New York State. There was a John Casey born
4/18/1869 in Bloomsberg to this family along with other siblings. The
family moved to Kingston, Pa. and were gone from this area in the 1900
census. Michael Casey married Rose Gibbons in 1891 in Kingston, Pa. The
couple moved somewhere in New York and had two children, James Joseph and
Mary. Before Mary was born, Michael was killed as a result of a baseball
accident. We are told that Michael was a professional ball player, but I
know nothing more than that. I would love to see the pictures. Thank you.

Not my Caseys, as far as I can see, Shelley, but I'd like to thank you for
your public-spiritedness in trying to get this jewel to the family by
posting the names in this Internet-searchable repository. I often browse in
postcard and photo collections at flea markets and think what a pity it is
that old family photos, most of them bearing no names or other
identification, just moulder there and - if unsold - probably end up a few
months later in a trash collection.
A few years back I found a photo of the fire brigade in a Yorkshire village,
ca. 1910, and - because it had the name of the photographer on the back -
succeeded in getting it back to the local history archivist.

Subject: [CASEY] CASEY Family Photograph
I've "rescued" an old postcard photograph of Mrs. John CASEY and two girls,
Minnie and Doris CASEY which was taken at a studio in Binghamton, New York.
The photograph was taken in 1919 and indicates that Minnie is 12 years old
on June 17th 1919 and Doris is 10 years old on Mar 8 1919. Mrs. CASEY would
appear to be in her 40's or 50's at the time the photograph was taken.
Based on limited research I was able to find the following in census
records:
1920 census of Colesville, NY:
John CASEY, age 50, born PA, parents born Ireland, a House Carpenter
Effie CASEY, wife, age 53, born NY, parents born PA/NY
Starr CASEY, son, age 24, born NY, a Farm Laborer
Clyde CASEY, son, age 22, born NY, a Railroad Fireman
Lee CASEY, son, age 17, born NY, a Railroad Laborer
Kermit CASEY, son, age 15, born NY
Minnie CASEY, dau, age 12, born NY
Doris CASEY, dau, age 10, born NY
I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old
treasure can be returned to their family. If you are a member of this
family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

Shelley's posting got some dust off the CASEY List so I thought I'd check again to see if their are any listers researching CASEY in the MA area.
My Eugene CASEY spent his earliest years (c. 1865) on the coast of Maine, married there and eventually made it to MA. His wife, Margaret BURKE apparently had family in Concord, NH.
