Do you have any more info on this John Casey? I have a Thomas Casey who
also had sons named John, George, Thomas Jasper and Aaron. Wonder if there
might be a connection. Perhaps brothers [John and Thomas]. Do you have any
record of who your John Casey's parents and/or siblings were? Where did he
come to Tenn. from?

There is a John Casey in Hardeman County in the 1830 census. I
assume it is the same one in the 1820 Maury Co census because
he had a daughter, Elizabeth Casey Rogers, who was "born in Murray
County Tennessee" (that's on her tombstone). Unfortunately this is
about all I can find out about them. There are several other Caseys
in Hardeman County that may be children of John, James (2 of them)
Aaron, and Wilson.

Washington Co., TN was formed in 1777 and covered most of what is now the
state of TN. It also included part of what is now NC. Maury Co. was formed
in 1807 from what was Williamson County. At this time, Washington County is
to the far east of the state, not far from both VA & NC. Maury County is to
the west in the central part of the state, north of Giles County which
touches AL.
So, it is going to depend upon your time frame to determine where your
people lived.

My Casey line: George W. Casey, b 1808 VA, (maybe Henry County) married 1)
unk, 2) Mrs. Elizabeth French in Calloway County, KY. George died in St
Clair County, MO.
How close is Maury County, TN to Washington Co. TN?
Don't have access to my atlas right now or I would look myself.
Also during this time period was it the same back then as I know some of the
Counties in some of the states did change from time to time.

Kevin this question is for you.
Does your Sharp line sometimes use the Sharpe spelling and does it ever at
any time contain a woman named Eliza Sharpe who married a McColman?

Hi,
I'm new to the list and hoping someone can connect with this Casey. I'm looking for info on the family of George B. Casey, b. in Vermont according to several of his children's birth records, no date, but probably in the 1850s. At some point he moved to Richland Co, WI and m. Sonora/Laura Sharp (b. Aug. 1861). They had 5 children in the 1880s: Byron, Florence, Victoria, Milo and Jennie. George d. Dec 1924 and Sonora/Laura d. Oct. 1909, both in Richland Co. I have info to share on his descendants and Sonora/Laura's ancestors. Thanks

Carey,
My Casey family comes from Maury County. Here's my family and info. Please
let me know if you see a match anywhere. Thanks!
Jim (James) R. Casey m. Nancy Hensley 12/23/1869 in TN (It is my belief that
my James R. is from Maury County)
They had:
Joseph Franklin Casey b. 2/21/1873 b. Perry Co. TN married Mary Catherine
Warren
They had:
Archie Glenn Casey who narried Gladess Mae Campbell
They had:
Glenda Jeanette Casey (my mother)
In my research, I have found a John Casey in the 1820 Maury Co. Census
listed below:
Males 1 under 10; 3 under 16; 1 under 45
Females 2 under 10; 1 under 26 and 1 over 45
Not sure if he's mine.
Good luck!
Kim Casey
