Hello all:
I believe I may have found an escaped Casey. Does anyone have anything
on
Catherine Casey who married Issac Kreidler?
Am in contact with a ggg grandson, this is what he knows:
"We believe that Catherine was probably born
around 1823.
She married an Issac Kreidler and settled in the anthracite coal mining
area of Pa.Interestingly she had twin daughters! Catherine and
Margaret.
Kreidler's comefrom Pennsylvania first in Northhampton county. They have
been here the
earliest of all my family lines. Arrived from Germany we think
Wurtemburg late 1700's.They are Catholic Germans.I like your theory
about Catherine.Good sign that she had twins. May be the same
family.Don't have marriage record between Catherine and Isaac.I believe
Isaac worked as a coal miner. Like you I'm trying to figure out how
Catherine got to Pennsylvania. 1870 census lists her place of birth as
Eastern Canada.Still living relations remember being told She was from
Sydney Cape Bretton Island N.S.Hopefully we will figure this out."
ANY help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rose

Re: searching the townland in Ireland of these CASEYs:
I am finding many CASEYs while searching Catherine CASEY from County
Kerry.....or County Cork.
They immigrated from Ireland ending up in the Upper Penninsula Michigan
Copper Mines near Eagle River. Catherine married in 1870 and moved to
Duluth, MN, then to Brainerd, MN about 1876.
Ann CASEY - MARTIN moved from Michigan to Brainerd to be with Catherine and
is buried in Brainerd, MN.
Patrick CASEY was a brother. He remained in Michigan, but I can't find any
death record. His son Patrick went to Brainerd, MN, and died there.
Found a Martin CASEY with a wife Julia CASEY who died in Superior,
Wisc.....and whose bodies were sent by train to be buried in Brainerd,
MN....in 1892 for Martin.
They had a son John CASEY who worked in Superior as a mail carrier.
Also found a William CASEY who was born in Maine, and is buried in
Brainerd, MN. So is his son William.
If any of these names sound familiar, please contact me as I assume they are
all connected to the same townland in Ireland originally. Ann CASEYs mother
was Julia O'CONNOR, father was Michael CASEY. Catherine CASEYs father was
Patrick CASEY and mother Mary. Dates and names change with each document.
