Have just joined the list and VERY excited to find my Kasey surname on the
Casey list. We've been unable to place our James Kasey/Casey with any family
group with any certainty. Some think he was a part of Abner's family, others
think he was with Peter Casey. And, there are other theories as well.
According to the old family story, two brothers came from Ireland, James and
????,
did not get along, and James changed the spelling of the name to Kasey. James
was supposedly a mariner, and fought in the Rev. War at Yorktown. His father
may have been named Alexander as his first son was named Alexander. James
was married to Mary Canada/Canaday/Kennedy.
Any help so gratefully appreciated.
Sally Kasey E.

Interested in the Rachael Casey who married a Jernigan or Journagan late
1800s. Interested in where when and who is this Jernigan she married.
There were Jernigans in Wayne Co NC in the 1700s I am interested in a David
Jernigan m. Milly Toler and a Blake Jerniagan m. Winney Toler. There may not
be a connection at all but I think they went to Alabama at one point will
have to check.
Any Info on the Rachel Jernigan Casey would be appreciated.

Hello Casey researchers,
I have found a possible research resourse on the net at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~irish/igsi/casey.htm
It was Albert E. Casey, an Alabama pathologist (remember Quincy?), created and
compiled this fabulous collection in the course of researching his own family
history and had it published between the years 1952-71 by the Amite and
Knocknagree Historical Fund in Birmingham, AL.
O'Kief, Coshe Mang, Slieve Lougher and the Upper Blackwater in Ireland series,
a collection of 16 enormous volumes of primary and secondary genealogical and
historical records of Ireland. It is said that it contains more than 3 million
names.
The web site has an excellent table of contents for the volumes in the series
as well as a partial list of the libraries where it may be found. Perhaps you
may be lucky enough to have a set near you... Check it out !
Good hunting
