Hi Listers
I am looking for a William CASE, born around 1810, who emigrated to
Sydney, NSW, Australia sometime before 1st April 1844. He married
Sarah TUBBY (who was born in Tottenham, Mdx.) on that date at the
Scots Church, Sydney and they had three children: William Sydney b.
1844 and twins Mary Elizabeth and Sarah Isabella born 1846. Sarah
TUBBY married George FOWLER on 30th October 1847 at the Scots Church,
Sydney when she stated she was a widow. William CASE was a
servant/butcher on his childrens' birth certificates. William Case
and his son William Sydney disappear. They are not in the NSW death
indexes, nor in any of the other Australian state indexes. Did they
come to England, do they appear on anyones family tree?
From research I have done I know there was a Thomas CASE born 1818 in
Bishopstone in Wiltshire who arrived in Sydney in 1838. Is it
possible he had a brother William born 1810, or even a cousin?
I have tried all the usual indexes both here and in Australia via NSW
State Library. I have Williams marriage certificate and the
childrens birth certificates, none of which give any further
information.
Any help much appreciated.
Jan
