I don't know if this went through before I was ready to send it, if so,
sorry for teh duplicate post..... Lori
Sauni,
My husband's family comes from Lucien Fernando CASE. Born in CT.
Was
about 16 when he joined a local unit heading to the Civil War........
The ONLY census I can find him in is right before he joined the armed
forces. He was living on a farm with a family called Scripture. He
does not appear with them 10 years prior.... After the war he makes
his way to the Chicago area where he met his wife. He worked on the
MKT railway as it was being built toward Texas, stopping in Denison,
where he setteled with his wife and two children. I do not have any
There is an F. Lucien Case, in the 1850 CT census, Litchfield, New
Hartford, aged 22 or 27, page 119, b. CT, living with Josiah Case family
There is a Lucien Case aged 37 b. CT, wife Martha aged 29 and son Frank,
aged 6, in the 1870 census for IN, Wayne County, Richmond Ward 5. His
occupation is listed as R.R. Conductor.
Name: LUCIEN F. CASE
State: TX
County: Grayson County
Township: Denison E.D. 5
Year: 1890
Page: 002
Database: TX 1890 Veterans Schedule
clues as to where he came from prior to the census/civil war, who
his
parents were, or what his nationality is. All of your messages sound
as if CASE is an English name, but Lucien Fernando does not..... ?
I believe there are 3 Case nationalities - English, French and Irish.
Any help anyone might have or ideas for places to search I would
love
to hear. I can give specific dates if needed.... I am just not near
my notes at the momement.
Well, Wife's and childrens' names would help.
