My Case line is probably the most rare of the three standard USA Case
lines. (Those being the Connecticut Case line-- John Case, the Carolina
Case line, and last-- my own Delaware Case line. This last line surfaced
only about 3 years ago with some DNA testing and fortunate email
searching. The Delaware Case line dates from the early days of over 250
years ago. We are of Irish origin. I believe they came over from Kerry
County with Daniel Webb as indentured servants and arrived about October
1680 in Philadelphia. I have found one other DNA relative in Lancaster
county Pennsylvania. They have records of living relatives in
Delaware. Anyone else out there with possible relationships to us?

My own CASE family branch (Absalom CASE) moved around 1800 from New
Palz, NY to Luzerne County PA. About 1915 my great-grandfather (David
Absalom CASE) moved his branch of the family from Luzerne County to
Santa Barbara, CA. A few CASEs are still there.
As far as DNA is concerned, FamilytreeDNA has a CASE surname group
with 93 members separated into several groups based upon Y-DNA
matches. My own 67 markers match closely with at least two of the
members, one currently in Arizona and one in the Carolinas. There is
a group of CASEs in North and South Carolina the existence of which
was unknown to me prior to Y-DNA testing. Any CASE related surname
holder can join the group.
My primary problem has been documenting anything prior to 1740 or so.
The family, unfortunately, named a lot of its sons 'Henry' and
distinguishing between them is difficult.
