Looking at the dates of the Jefferson County, Kentucky
Court, does anyone know how the particular Cases
mentioned found their way out there 5 years after the
Decl. of Independence and long before the War of
Independence was over? Was this territory in the hands
of the British or the Americans. Any guesses? The
historical context is as fun as the name search.

Goldsmith and Susannah apparently had a large
family, but I don't have the
names. Their oldest son, I presume, was Theophilus
G. Case, born 3 Sep 1789.
Theophilus married Sarah Skidmore, Clermont County,
Ohio, 24 Dec 1812. They
lived in Ohio, then in Wayne Co., IN, and finally in
St. Joseph County, IN,
where Theophilus died 1846.
I have a great deal on Theophilus's line, but little
on Goldsmith Case.
Would love to connect with anyone who could add info
to this line.

Re: Case men in Kentucky tax roles of 1792
At last, someone I recognize!
Joseph Case was born 11 July 1757 in MD and died 30
Aug 1809 in Bourbon Co,
KY.
He married Delilah Hayes and had one child that I
know of, Deborah Case.
Deborah was born in Fort Redstone in Fayette County,
PA on 4 Oct 1784.
On the 3rd Mar 1803 she married Gabriel Keath. They
had 11 children in
Montgomery County, KY then moved to Putnam, County
Indiana. Gabriel died in
Indiana in 1833. Deborah remarried in 1845.
Most of the family, including Deborah and second
husband moved on to Iroquois
County, Illinois in 1860.
Probably most of the Cases listed in Kentucky were
related. I would love to
hear from anyone who knows anything about them.
