All I can tell you is that my gg grandfather's name was Separate Case, he
had the children named in the Benton county, Iowa 1880 census. In the
census they refer to the head of household as "Seph" where it comes from is
the guy that took the census, hearing a not familiar name of "Sepatate" had
to put something down. I have no idea here I am just guessing, all I can
tell you is his name was Separate Case not Seph Case. Sorry I was just
trying to set the record straight.

Since I have 3 Separate Cases in my Mother's family history, I

correspondence prior to the computer from family members, none of which
have ever called any of the Separate Case's "Seph or Septor". Where does
this come from?
