It came from "Cuz Alf" a very nice fellow whose in-laws are related to my
husband's in-laws. Alf's folks happened to be neighbors of one of one of my Case
uncles so I gave him a little background on the early Cases. I mentioned that I had come
across a little info on a very early Isaac Case and wondered if he might be related to
Thomas Case who might be an ancestor of my Isaac born 1766-1770.
I had also shared my early info with Lee Case. Lee was in the process of helping me when
he died.
I found the early Isaac in the SC Archives database
http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/search/default.asp
Note the 1735 date. He was in the Carolinas very early. I can't help but wonder if
he might be an ancestor of Isaac b. 1766-1770. I have not been able to prove that the
later Isaac is my Reuben's father but they are mentioned in many transactions together
and my Reuben named his son Isaac Young Case. The Isaac name has also been passed down
another branch of Reuben's family. No documentation though so it shouldn't be
passed on as fact just speculation. :)
So you can see why I wonder if the earliest Isaac might be the father of Thomas who might
be the father of Isaac born 1766-1770.
Have you taken a look at the Case DNA Project. My cousin submitted DNA for our family. We
badly need more DNA from other SC/NC Cases. Do you know anyone who might be interested in
joining the project? I think it's the only way we're going to connect our
branches as it seems many of the early records did not survive.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Subject: Re: [CASE mail list] Isaac Case/Father of John - fact or fiction
Glad that you mentioned this Barbara, I am a direct descendant of John Case, and when I
saw this "Isaac Case" I was wondering where he came from, it was kinda outta the
blue. I have seen it posted on Lee Case's database. Lee's wife, Joan, is
maintaining that database now, as Lee passed away in Feb. of 2003. It is also in Alfred
Tomerlin's database.
Where did you find this Isaac Case in your researching?
What clues did you find that lead you to your conclusions?
Where was this Isaac Case born or where did he live in SC?
Do you think he has connections to the Conn. Case's?
I am very curious about him, I was poking around today with the Conn. Case's trying
to locate the closest in age Isaac Case.
Anybody have any ideas? Ship records? Does anyone know how to locate these records for
people that entered this country through Southern ports?
Also, concerning John Case's(b. 1745)wife, Elizabeth "Laxton"....who found
her surname to be Laxton? Has it been proven? I refuse to list her last name in my files
until I see this verified? Has anyone found this to be truly her last name?
Thanks All,
Wanda Case
