Hi Larry,
Your Case family sounds as literate as mine (left very few written
records)... Perhaps we are related, is there a chance
you might be able to share your ancestor file with me too!
Thanks!

No, I'm not from that line. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if my ancestors
couldn't even spell tractor, much less invent them! (I'm kidding, we're not
really all that dumb.) I'm sending you my Personal Ancestor File, You can
sort through it and see if there's something you can use. It doesn't sound
like we have any Cases in common, but I have quite a list of them. I will
send it on a separate e-mail, as I'm not too proficient on this computer.

Do you have info on the J.I. Case line? I have "oral info" that says this
family descended from a son of Buel Case (son of Ephraim Buel Case and g.son
of Roger Case - all of Simsbury who migrated to Walton, Delaware Co., NY in
late 1700-early 1800's.) I've not been able to prove this one way or the
other. Would appreciate any input. Thanks.

No. That must be the J.I. Case line, the tractor people, who left for Ohio.
Our family stayed in Connecticut until my husband's great-grandfather lit
off for California at the turn of the last century, just in time for the San
Francisco earthquake.

I have a census sheet dated 20 November, 1850. (the month is
difficult to
read, but the year is in bold print.) It lists Eliphalet as a 74 year old
man. It has him living with Sarah Case, age 64, and another Sarah Case,
age
22. Does any of this fit with your records?
It is from the Ohio Township, Gallia County, Ohio.
That means this one would have been born about 1776. I have Googled him,
and there's quite a good history about him. He was a preacher and even a
mayor, but alas, I can't connect him to me.

Google the name Eliphalet Case. You might find what you are looking for.
Good luck. I do believe that Eliphalet Case had a son named Eliphalet
also.
I believe he died in Texas. The Eliphalet in our line stayed in
Connecticut, as did his son Chester.
