I have researched Nehemiah Thomas Case Sr. His father was Charles Wesley
Case b abt 1805. His mother was Matilda Jewel Davis b.17 June 1808 in Sugar
Creek, Athens, Ohio. There is an interesting book about her Davis family
that mentions Charles, Matilda, and their sons. It is called "They Saw
America Born" by Dora Davis Farrington. A complete online copy can be found
and downloaded at:

I also have a good deal of information on Nehemiah Sr. families (he was
married three times) and two of his brothers if anyone is interested. It
appears that the boys were placed out in families about 1844 in southern
Illinois (Nehemiah to John Westcott's home, and Edward and Charles jr. to
Jeduthan Hardy) I can not tell where they were raised after that (the 1850
census is my source) but they did stay in southern Illinois because they all
joined the Illinois Union Army (2 in cavalry and 1 to the infantry) there.
I would like to hear from others researching Nehemiah's line and will share
what I have with anyone.

Subject: [CASE-FAMILY] Looking for Case's
I am looking for Descendents of Eliphalet Case. In different notices, I
have heard that he had only adopted children, and that he was the father of
Nehemiah Thomas Case Senior. Does anyone have any clarification on this?
