Dear bishtreeclimber,
I only know one more generation further back.
Samuel P. Case, b. 1798. Birthplace is variously given as Pennsylvania, New Jersey and
Connecticutt, depending on which census you look at, and which son gives the information.
Samuel m. Rachel Troutman about 1820 and they had:
George T. b. 1822 prob. Wayne Co, Ohio
Sarah, b. 1825, prob. Wayne Co., Ohio, died young
John J. b. 1827 prob. Wayne Co., Ohio, died young
Thomas Day, b. 1830 Wayne Co., Ohio
Samuel P. Jr., b. 1833, Wayne Co., Ohio
Lydia Ann, b. 1836, Wayne Co., Ohio
Cyrus S., b. 1840, Wayne Co, Ohio
Reason B. b. 1842, Wayne Co., Ohio, died in Civil War
Rachel Rose, b. 1846, Wayne Co, Ohio
I've never been able to track down Samuel's parents. There are other Case
families in Wayne Co, Ohio at the same time, some children with the same names, but I
can't find how they are connected either. It's a puzzle. Does this help you at
all?
Trish

One branch of my Case family ended up in Cowley County, Kansas.
Samuel P. Case, Jr. was born in Wayne Co. Ohio 28 May 1833 and eventually
moved to Kansas and died there. His children were:George E. Case, Uriah O.
Case, John A. Case, William A. Case, Mary A. Case, Amanda Lunetta Case,
and Clara Ann Case.
I'm descended from an older brother of Samuel Jr. He was Thomas Day Case,
b. 8 Aug 1830. He eventually moved to Hamilton County, Nebraska, where he
died in 1924.
Are these the people you are asking about, Dee?
Thanks,
Trish
