My great, great, great grandfather Solomon Case, served in the Revolutionary War in a
Connecticut regiment and later in the Continental Army. I checked National Archives in DC
and found three Solomon Cases - one a private and later a sgt., which was my ancestor. The
other Solomon Case died of illness during or right after the war, according to the scant
records. Many records were burned by the Brits in war of 1812.
Solomon was son of Joseph Case Jr, grandson of Joseph and greatgrandson of John Case and
Sarah Spencer Case. It's hard to believe my great, great, great grandfather serv ed in
that war. Explanation is that my great grandfather, Theodore Dwight Case, son of Jacob,
was 59 when my grandfather, Theodore Dwight Case jr., was born. TDC's wife was only 33
when my grandfather was born. Sadly, my grandfather was killed in a railroad accident in
1903 when he was 25. My late father, Theodore Dwight Case 111, was only 18 months old
when his father was killed.

THANK YOU very much, Duke, for your prompt reply. I'll check it
out.
Asahel Case was my 6th-great-grandfather.
