Candy - I don't think this is so unusual. My line also has 3 Samuels and
then not a one in the next seven gerations down in my line. Some names
recur but only in colateral lines so we miss them if we are only looking at
our direct line.
To answer how do you know wyou have the right one. You keep on looking for
other clues that point you in the same direction. Not an easy task when
the records are poor.
Good Hunting!

I found reference to Pelatiah Case in NE Hist Genealogical Register Vol
71:
Pelatiah ye child of Samuel Case Jr., born Sept 4, 1768. Question:
how
do I
know this is the same Pelatiah (m-Appia Loomis), father of Martin,
Pelatiah
Jr., Chauncey, etc.
An earlier post said that Pelatiah was s/o Samuel, gs/o Samuel and ggs/o
Samuel. It does not feel right for there to be 3 Samuels in a row then
from
Pelatiah on down in myline, the first name to never appear again.
Got an
explanation?
I would appreciate any information forward and backward on Pelatiah Case
b
1768. Anyone have inf. on a Salon Homer Case from Wisc.? or a Warren
Case
from
Halfday, Ill.
