Hi everyone
My CASE / CASS family is as follows:
Charles CASS (labourer) born c. 1814, Shaftesbury, DOR (possibly the illeg.
son of Ann CASS b. c.1776, Tipperary, Ireland) married Caroline TANSWELL
probably before 1837 (GRO record not found). They had seven children:
Sarah b. 1837
Thirza b. 1839
Charles b. 1841
John b. 1844
Mary b. 1846
James b. 22 Jul 1848
Harry b. 1853
James CASS (bargeman) married Martha MITCHELL (b.1849, Shaftesbury daughter
of John MITCHELL (gardener) and wife Emma) 29 Jul 1866. They had their first
three children at Shaftesbury:
James b. 1867
Louise b. 1869
William b. 1871
They left Shaftesbury and went to Portsmouth where their remaining children
were born:
Frederick John CASE b. 10 Sep 1874 Portsea
Mary b. 1879
Emma b. 1880
Harry CASS b. 26 Jan 1886 Stamshaw
Frederick CASS married Alice Helena SIMPSON (b. 4 Jun 1873, Portsea,
daughter of William SIMPSON and Sarah Ann DOWSE) 6 Oct 1900, Portsea.
Frederick CASS was my great grandfather.
Credit must be given to Deborah Peach (a Cass cousin) as she did most of the
Cass research.
Can anyone make any connections?
