Subject: Peter Case and Lucretia Burr
My last known Case ancestors are Peter Case and his wife Lucretia
Burr.
They were living in Hampshire county Virginia (Now West Virginina) in
the
early 1800's. Land records show other Case names which may or may
not be
his sons. Othaniel, Jacob, William and Leonard. It is conjectured
that
Will is a brother. Othaniel is definetly a son and married Mary Ann
Starns(Stearns) A Jacob Case living in Portage County Ohio is
believed to
have been Peter's son but I have found no proof of this. Jacob
was
born in
Hunterdon county New Jersey. Records there show a Peter Case and
wife Anna
haveing children one of whom is Peter born 1766 about the time my
Peter
would have been born. One clue I have recently found is in a census
record
Othaniel's daughter Eliza states her father was born in Nova
Scotia.
Question: could Othaniel's father Peter have belonged to a family of
Torys
that went to Nova Scotia for the duration of the war?
Anyone have any clues. Thanks Joyce
