My problem was that my Norton's was not set up to update automatically.
Instead, it was supposed to notify me of updates. I didn't get the
notification for the BADTANS & opened what I thought was a genealogy file.
Bad move. It was a nasty thing to get rid of & the worst was knowing I had
unwittingly sent it on. My Norton's is now set to update automatically. Hard
lesson learned.

A suggestion.
Save any attachments to your desktop, then run your virus checker on
them. This way - anything wrong, the checker will let you know, and kill
the file.
Then, you can delete the infected post, without your system becoming
infected.
