Hello, Cecelia,
I'm sorry I can't answer your question precisely but,
I have asked the same question with no results about the connection to Lewis
Cass and his lineage.
I HAVE proven the connection to J.I. Cass and can
get that info for you if you are related to the Connecticutt Case families
so prominent on the
Case Clearing House.
If you get any responses directly (as opposed to
answers sent to the entire Case-Family-L list) I
would appreciate any info on the Lewis Cass lineage.
Thanks and God Bless! Bob boblin(a)bright.net

Subject: Cass-Gov of MI
Does anyone know the pedigree of Lewis Cass, Gov of MI back in the
1800's?
My gr grandmother Jones, born 1860 left a letter that had a lot of good
info
in it but some that is really untrue. Her Mother was a Case and she has us
related to every Case,
or Cass that ever got their name in the paper. Like J.I. Case of
Harvester fame. We can find no relationship to him and I'm sceptical as
well that we are related to this Lewis Cass.
The earliest known and proven? ancester is Cornelius Case, born 1810 in
NJ.
Married Prudence Osborn in 1831 in Butler
County, OH. His parents may have been Peter and Margaret Case from
NJ,
but that hasn't been proven yet either to the satisfaction of my niece and
my cousin, who are most adamant about "Proving" things.
If someone is related to this Lewis Cass and could fill me in on his
parents,
uncles or such, it might help. Thanks.
