1. Volney Case b. ca. 1815-1820 son of Jonathan Case (Jonathan Joy, William
V,...) and Ann Voorhees. This Jonathan was b. 1793 Rehoboth, MA d. 1833
Bristol, Ontario Co., NY. I have 4 siblings listed. Source WFT CD #3 tree

2. Volney Case son of John Case b.1779 (Jonathan & Alchee Cronkhite, Nathan,
John, Joseph Cass, John Casse/Martha Philbrick) and Hannah Milliman. Jonathan
Case was from R.I. and d. 1808 Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer Co., NY while Alchee
was b. 1760 Hoosick Falls and d. 1848 Williamstown, Oswego Co., NY. That'a
about all I have on locations. This Volney had a brother Caleb. Source:

I wish I did. The 1855 Census is the only clue I have about her "past" life.
It states she had been a resident in Genessee Co until she was 10 years old.
(At least I think that's what that meant). She may also have lived in
Wyoming and Allegany Counties.
At that time she married Rodney B. Smith (at the age of 42) and took on his 6
children. Seems like she would have been married before but she gave her
son born shortly thereafter the name of Volney Case Smith.
