Dear George
Here is some information That was sent to me a few weeks ago.
From the 1851 census. You probably have this already but The Edmund
L. Case mentioned here is the one we have been searching for. He is the grandfather of my
wifes cousin. Sarah Biles' husband was Samuel Case who died young according to the
grandson.
Census 1851, Page 28, Parish of Bere Regis, Borough of Wareham
90 blank (No street/road given, although probably Amen Corner as the entries following
"90" are 91, 92 and 93 Amen Corner)
Sarah Biles CASE, head, widow, age 63, fund holder, born Dorset Milbourne
Edmund L. CASE, son, unmarried, age 33, D??s??'s Assistant, born Dorset Milbourne
(please let me know if you should ever determine what type of assistant Edmund was. Many
people have tried to decipher the census taker's hand writing in an attempt to
interpret this word)
Matilda R CASE (a small case underlined"L" appears beside the top loop of the
"R"), dau, unmarried, age 28, born Dorset Milborne
Elleanora S. CASE, dau, unmarried, age 23, born Dorset Milbourne

Subject: CASE name
Dear Listers
I am new to Ulverston list.
Seeking any CASE names. My ancestor began the Dorset button industry in 1622 in
Shaftesbury, Dorset. His descendants employed a John Clayton to increase the business.
John set up depots/offices in London & Liverpool as well as six other sites in Dorset
where 4,000 cottage workers were employed.
The Brickell's were close friends of the Case family and married into each other's
families.
All three families spread out across the UK , Canada, USA and New Zealand/Australia.
I am considering creating a one-name study of CASE. Can anyone help with information
about the related families.
I have the 1828/9 Pigot's directory for Cumberland, Lancashire & Westmoreland.
Willing to do some lookups. One name at a time please.
The following names appear for Ulverston:
Matthew Case, DukeSt., Cabinet maker
John Clayton, King St., Linen & Woolen Drapers.
William Brickel, Market St., Tallow Chandlers.
No other info given for these people.
Cannot find West Derby in this directory.
Other related families include Bailey & Palmer.
Best wishes
George Toth, Stockport, Cheshire, England
