Mason County Kentucky
This indenture made the eighth of June, 1829 between Marshall Key, clerk of
the county of Mason and Peyton White of same county witness the said Marshall
Key for and in consideration of the covenants herein and by virtue of an
order from the Worshipful Court of said county, made it pursuance of an act
of the General Assembly of Kentucky, entitled, "An act concerning the poor,"
doth put Edmund Case an apprentice to the said Peyton White, him to
faithfully serve and obey in all lawful commands from the lot of these
present, for the full term of nine years from the 13th day of March last and
the said Peyton White for himself and his heirs, promise and agree to and
with the said Marshall Key that he will truly teach the said Edmund Case, the
trade and mystery of a farmer and will cause the said Edmund Case too be
taught to read and write, and common arithmetic with good food, wholesome
meat, lodging and clothing fit for an apprentice to have and at the
expiration of the said term to pay to the said Edmund Case, the sum of three
pounds, ten shilling current money at the present value. And one decent new
suit of clothes.
