Sorry this is so long but here goes,
My 3rd great grandfather Elnathan CASE was born in New York c1772. He is married to
Margaret b. in Ireland c 1787 and they are living with their daughter Rachel (b. abt 1820)
and son-in-law Lewis Reynolds and 3 grandchildren, Adelburt (Lewis A. ), Edward and
Elnathan Reynolds, and dau. Elizabeth Case Dales b 27 Sep.1807,( wid of James C Dales mar.
in Delaware Co., NY) and their 5 children in the 1850 NY Canadaigua Twp., Ontario Co.
census
Elnathan and Margaret are listed as Family # 422. I noticed all of the other Cases in the
same area thanks to the CASE Clearing House Census pages, and am wondering if anyone knows
who their Case relatives are? It seems that if so many Cases live in the area some must
(hopefully) be related.
Lewis died 11 January 1854 and Rachel Reynolds died 27 April 1853 and are buried in the
Gunn Cemetery, Whalen Rd, East Bloomfield, Ontario Co., NY and I can't find anything
on the rest after that except Adelburt and Elnathan are listed as domestics living with
Allen and Susan Raynolds in Galen, Wayne Co., NY. Edward their brother, b. abt 1838 is not
with them. Nor the rest.
Rachel CASE and Lewis Reynolds are my 2nd greats through their son Lewis Adelburt (who
ended up in Michigan) Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Hi Carolee,
I'm not at all sure we are related, but members of my Case family lived in
Canadaiqua, and also Bloomfield, Cohocton, Naples and Springwater Livingston Co., Avoca,
Steuben Co in the early mid and late 1850's. My 2nd great grandfather Solomon Case b
1806 Turtle Creek, Alleghany, PA emigrated to NY sometime around 1820-1830, possibly first
to Rochester area. He had three wives, I've had a fair amount of help from ancestry in
locating his children's decendents esp from the first wife, Eliza Ann Boswell, my dads
line from the middle wife Emeline Phillips, and less luck from the third wife, Eustine
Knauer [or Shorr or Snow].
One genetic tie has been found but we cant find our common connection, although his first
info begins in Derry, Westmoreland, PA. around 1780. I'm very eager to find more
links to this Case line and am looking for possible Case males willing to Y test or
females willing to Family Finder test with FTDNA. Interesting to your posting here, my
dad and I share a genetic tie to a Howard Reynolds but to my knowledge we had no Reynolds
in our Case tree. So I'm wondering if we might have a connection, my dad 's kit is
N82444 for Y and FF and mine is N81100 for FF. My tree is on ancestry and I'm glad to
invite anyone who is interested to it. It's called [Case/ Gray/Kelley/Cooper].
I'd be curious what you may think!
