Subject: Re: [CASE-FAMILY] I have an announcement to make!
Sounds like a wonderful tool.
It is.
Next question from a rather old and slow guy (I just celebrated #83)
is how do I make use of this wonderful tool?
On the Case Clearing House website (
http://loricase.com/case/start.html" ) is a link to an index of all the
names in the Ruth Duncan book "John Case and His Descendants"
The index is by surname, so you would click the letter of the surname you
are looking for (C for Case is good)
Then you will see a list of all the people in the book whose last name
begins with the letter you clicked. You will also see numbers in the next
column....each number is a link to a pdf page from the book.
You need to have a PDF reader of some sort on your computer...either Adobe
Reader, Adobe Acrobat, or whichever pdf program you care to use or have on
your computer. I would think some of the newer programs, such as MS Office
or Word Perfect would open a pdf file - you will have to view your computer
to see what might be installed already. On the Case Clearing House pages is
a link to download and install the free Adobe Reader if you need a pdf
reader...
After you click a number, the page will be opened by the program you have,
and then you can read or print the page for your files.
Digging out old folks has been a part time effort and there is so
much
I don't know about the tools that are available.
Oh, I think even us geeks don't know all the tools out there for researchers
to use :)
Have been able to tie back to Squire Littleton Case / Martha
McCloud.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
If you haven't already, join the Case Family forum at
rootsweb.com and post
questions or your lineage...there are other Case forums out there that you
can join (the more the better your chances of getting data I would think)
Hope this helps - if you have questions still, ask here or send me an email
and I'll try to answer them.
