Hi, Just came in on this late. I am related to the MS Case families. Mine are in Lincoln,
Franklin, Pike, Copiah and Lawrence counties. I'm sure some went on to TX. I still
have many relatives in the area. I should be back in MS next week.

Hi, Ms. Diane!
From what I know, the family 'lore' was that my Great-Great
Grandfather was from Colorado but all other signs point to him being
from/going through Mississippi.
The Case family I'm looking at is the Benton Case family down in
Bee/Refugio/Fannin Counties, Texas. In 1880, this is the only family
who has the names of all of my family members in it: Henry, Minnie,
Mary and Lula (Luther). After 1880, this family seems to have
disappeared which would give creedance to the family 'lore' that both
of my Great-Great Grandparents died, leaving their children to reside
with a Williams family. I believe that the family 'lore' might have a
few holes in it with regards to where the family came from.
In the history of some Mississippi Case Family members, there are a
few men who supposedly share the believed name of "Jesse David Case."
Funny that this particular family also has Mississippi ties through
their individual names do not match the assumed names of my Great
Great Grandparents. There is but one death certificate (Luther's)
that notes his parent's names as Jesse David Case and Rosy Mary
McDonnel/McDonald.
Any help with this Benton Case Family is greatly appreciated!!!
Cordially,
Kevin

This really caught my attention, because my father was Jerry Benton Case,
born in Lincoln County, Mississippi. I remember asking my grandmother
where the name "Benton" came from, and she just said it was a "family
name,"
but, in all these years, I've never ran across the name.

Hi Kevin, I believe BENTON CASE is really ALONZO B CASE, born in Michigan
abt 1841, son of Thomas Case (b. abt 1802 NY) and Almira Case. He had a
brother, RANSOM CASE, b. about 1846 in Michigan, who also settled in Texas.
ALONZO B CASE served for the Confederacy in Civil War. I have located
ALONZO (BENTON) on the 1880 US Census in Texas, but that's as far as I've
gone. They settled in Fannin, Texas. Hope this helps. Linda----- Original

Hi, Lori!
Do you or anyone here have any connection to Cases that lived
in/around Bee/Refugio County, TX? It appears this family might have
been part of the Mississippi Cases as well.
I am specifically looking at a Benton Case and his family (children):
Henry, Mary, Minnie, Lula and Henry (Nephew). I believe this to be my
Great-Grandmother's family but cannot find out where the family ended
up settling around at.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
