For Linda Dick:
You might look at Zophar Case's handwritten account of his trip to Illinois
in 1829, which starts "This book is a memorandum of the family relations as
they come to my mind and as information obtained." The family is listed
after he relates his trip, as follows: "Geneological memorandum of the
ancestors and desccndants of MESHACH CASE - Paternal Line - Holland.
Theophilus, Christopher, BUTLER and REUBEN Case, brothers, came to the
colonies about 1750 landed on Long Island - passed onto the Jerseys. Butler
married a woman of Irish descent at Morris County, a Miss Darner. There they
had issue Meshach Elizabeth who married David Sutton and had a large family
who removed from the Jerseys to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Thence to
Shenango. Butler who married Miss Sarah Pugh, they had NUMEROUS issue, viz.,
Reuben, Butler, Sarah, Thomas and various others and died in 1833 or 1834
Westmoreland Co. Ohio." And there is more. He goes on listing the maternal
line, part of it here "Meshach Case married Magdalene Eckstein May 19,
1780," and had descendants "Reuben Case born June 28, 1795" "Reuben
Case
married Narcissa Martin living at Maysville, Ky, had children" but didn't
list them. Reuben was an older brother of Zophar, who was born Jan 5, 1804.
I thought maybe there would be a connection to your Butler and Reuben in
this family, although it is not shown. You may procure a copy of Zophar's
journal from the Ohio Historical Society, costs about l0-20 cents a page or
maybe more now. Good luck on your search and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE CASE
FAMILY!
