This really caught my attention, because my father was Jerry Benton Case,
born in Lincoln County, Mississippi. I remember asking my grandmother
where the name "Benton" came from, and she just said it was a "family
name,"
but, in all these years, I've never ran across the name.

Hi Kevin, I believe BENTON CASE is really ALONZO B CASE, born in Michigan
abt 1841, son of Thomas Case (b. abt 1802 NY) and Almira Case. He had a
brother, RANSOM CASE, b. about 1846 in Michigan, who also settled in Texas.
ALONZO B CASE served for the Confederacy in Civil War. I have located
ALONZO (BENTON) on the 1880 US Census in Texas, but that's as far as I've
gone. They settled in Fannin, Texas. Hope this helps. Linda----- Original

Subject: [CASE-FAMILY] Bee/Refugio County, TX "Cases"
Hi, Lori!
Do you or anyone here have any connection to Cases that lived
in/around Bee/Refugio County, TX? It appears this family might have
been part of the Mississippi Cases as well.
I am specifically looking at a Benton Case and his family (children):
Henry, Mary, Minnie, Lula and Henry (Nephew). I believe this to be my
Great-Grandmother's family but cannot find out where the family ended
up settling around at.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Kevin
