Cases mentioned in:
The Loyalists in Ontario, William D. Reid
This book consists of extractions from Orders In Council (OIC) references to
land grants made to the sons and daughters of the Loyalists and arranged by
name of parent. Added was extraneous info from marriage notices in papers,
etc. THIS IS NOT PRIMARY DATA and should be verified by anyone using it.
Loyalists had rights to a free 200 acres. Their sons had the same right
when they reached 18, and daughters when they married.
This is an abbreviated abstraction, and if anyone has these Cases in their
family. I will be glad to provide the rest of the listings. (
gecase(a)earthlink.net <mailto:gecase@earthlink.net> ) For details, you will
have to get copies of the Orders in Council referenced, from the Ontario
Archives on Toronto. If you need a lookup from this book for other
surnames, contact me and I will be glad to look thru the index.
