To the Case Genealogy group.
I have been researching my Case family for 15 years (my grandfather was
orphaned and lost track of his Case family). (he died 20 years ago) The
Internet and this group has helped greatly. Even though it took me and the
Internet to find living relatives (and that has only been in the last 4
months) it was a member of this group that helped me prove my linage. I
write this for a few reasons one even though no one could help directly for
my first five generations a member of this group found and sent me copies of
documents she found while doing her research. This information is what linked
me to the New York Case's and actually to her. If she had not been open
minded to say hay I recognize that name and I know someone who needs this I
would still be searching. Thanks to at least one person (and maybe many
more!) on this group.
Next I found a living relative that had a family bible dating back to the
1800s early as in 1802 to be exact. They live about 1000 miles away.
Fortunately I had borrowed a digital camera with high resolution capabilities
and had my lap top and scanner so I was able to photograph and scan bible
entries and old photos (over 100 years old) I hope everyone tries to scan and
digitally photograph pictures and documents so someday someone may come along
and say hay thats my grandma! But in the mean time we can all share our
information.
By the way the "Case" bible I found started with Sherman's and when I got on
the Internet and found a Sherman historian and Author I offered her the
pictures then and only then were we able to clear up an error several Sherman
historians have had for many years (maybe 100 years). So now on her web site
it says "found in a Case Bible ....." I would like everyone to try and
digitize any and all information and Share the info. Oh by the way I still
haven't found anyone working on Case Genealogy in my Case line back 8
generations. But someday someone will and I will be here to share what I
have. Good luck with your search and DIGITIZE!
