RE: CASE, Daniel 1702-1761 posted by Vicki Breeze 3/14/2002 My Phoebe CASE
b. abt 1783 m. Jacob STOLL 4/Mar/1802 d. 1/July/1871 bur. Veteran, Chemung
Co., NY. Her cem records indicate daughter of Daniel and Sally CASE.
When Phoebe married, she was described as "of Newton". No state mentioned.
I know much abt the STOLLs who were New Amsterdam to Hunterdon Co.,NJ to
Chemung Co., NY. The STOLLs had been active in Newton, NJ so I had been
trying that area with no luck. I thought perhaps Daniel was one of the
KAES(CASE) clan in NJ. I was interested in your Daniel CASE b. 1730 , 2nd
wife, Phebe m. 1782. The Orange Co. was confusing as I was concentrating on
Hunterdon, NJ area. I realize that "Sally" was often a nickname. To
confuse me further, New Town(sometimes spelled "Newton") was once name of
Elmira, Chemung Co., NY next to Veteran where Jacob & Phoebe raised a
family. Grandmother's notes even mention "Middletown" with no state. Do you
know of children of your Daniel b. 1738 and wife, Phoebe? I realize that
this is a long shot but, at this point, would be grateful to even rule out
anything. I do know that several of my families migrated "West". I'm also
researching VANCE/OWENS in Newburgh, Orange Co., NY. I'm too far away to
use research facilities in that area. Thank you. Jackie Thurlow
