About three years ago, a lady in Ontario,Canada wrote to me, in response to my listing in
the Genealogical Research Directory, National & International version relating to my
interest in the CASE name. She described how some of her Dutch family KASSE/aka KASS
changed their name to CASE when they left Pensylvania and moved to Canada. At the time I
could not assist her, so put her in touch with another lady in Canada who made contact and
took uo the quest for her. I did not think it would be relevant to my research, back
then, to make note of all the persons referred to in her letter.
Last time I looked at the 1881 UK Census at an LDS FHC, I noticed some KASS/KASSE names
appeared when I keyed in CASE.
Would the 1880 US census for Pen. be a useful source for you? Maybe it is not name
indexed, which is the case for most UK censuses, only street indexed except for the 1881
LDS version and the 1901 on-line version, when it ever comes back on line.
Sorry not to be nore specific or helpful.
