Hi Lyn,
Wonderful! I was so hoping that this would help someone on the list. The
amount of information contained in them will certainly go a long way in your
research!
These are the result of a kind look-up volunteer, Katherine Patty of AZ. I
have been eliminating Case families in the southern MI area in hopes of more
closely identifying my Case family group who settled in Macomb, Jackson, and
Hillsdale county. This information helped me eliminate Horace Case and his
family and I felt that the data it contained would be very helpful to
someone, so I decided to post it to this list.
The BLO-GLO website is back up now at
www.glorecords.blm.gov/
There is information there on the land that Horace Case bought in both
Lenewee and Hillsdale county, MI (Land Patents). You can print those pages
off and you can also send for forms to get the Land File information-which
if you are lucky can contain a lot of personal information, sometimes even
marriage certs. In my research I also located Horace Case in the 1850
Scipio township, Hillsdale county, MI federal census: (There is no page
number but they are house number 41 in the census or image #6 at
ancestry.com if you have the census images)
Horace Case, age 49, farmer, $ of real estate-$3850, farmer, b. NY
Mary A. Case, age 46, b. NY
Willis Case, age 21, farmer, b. MI
William Case, age 21, farmer, b. MI
Candice Case, age 19, b. MI
Sarah Case, age 16, b. MI
Edna Case, age 10, b. MI
Horace Case Jr., age 8, b. MI
Good Luck in your research!
