Recently, I was in Nassau, NY, where I was looking up some children of
Obadiah BUSH of Sheffield, MA. I knew he was married to a Lydia, but had
little other information about her. Information that I saw there, gave
Lydia's maiden name as CASE. She and Obadiah/Obidiah died in Sheffield.
Mrs. Lydia BUSH died in Sheffield 30 Mar 1790. I don't know where they
married. I also didn't have a good birth date on her and I also didn't
find a marriage for her and Obadiah in Westfield, MA.
I returned home and looked on
www.familysearch.com and the only Lydia
CASE I found was in Simsbury, CT. She is the d/o CPT Richard CASE and
Amy REED. It says that she was born 15 Mar 1718 in Simsbury. Then there
is little else about her. It does say that she died after 1740. I found
a book on John Case and his descendants, in Hartford, CT, which did not
have a spouse for his Granddaughter, Lydia CASE, or where she died.
Another reason I believe she may be my Lydia Bush is that several of her
siblings ended up in Sheffield, MA.
I was wondering if anyone else could tell me about Lydia CASE. Have I
found my Grandmother, or do I need to keep digging?
