I get my census images from my library. I live in Anne Arundel County Md. I
can get Ancestry at the library and Heritage Quest at the library and at home.
You can retrieve by name on most years in Heritage and browse in 1880 and
those you cannot retrieve by name. You narrow the browse by state and county. You
download the images in Heritage and then print. Check your libraries. Charles

But you will be getting emails from ancestry.com about subscribing now,
lots of them.
When I do something like this, I use a throw-away address and name.
Did you get your census image?

If you still can't get the image after going to the 1880 census first,
then email me the name and county/state, and I will get that image for you.
Lori

Did you go to the 1880 census (it says FREE next to the link) *before*
going to the image?
Lori
Has anyone else had trouble accessing the 1880 Census on Ancestry.com? I
just tried and when I clicked on "view image" it brings me to a subscription
screen. I guess you can view their version of the info, but can't view the
actual images unless you cough up the $$. I'm researching my mom's side (gone
about as far as we can on the Case side) and think I've found my great
grandfather in 1880, but won't know for sure until I see the image. If I'm missing
something obvious, would someone pass along their advice?
Thanks and good luck searching everyone!

Thanks for the additional info....do you have names for the rest of his
family? I *hate* seeing just intials in a census record.
Lori
Hi Lori,
I am connected to all of the families listed on the pages I mentioned.
I am heading home to Hendersonville, (I live in KY now) so I will update more for you as soon as I get back from Henderson Co., NC.
Thanks,
Wanda Case

Thanks... Correct name noted on that county page, and you are listed in
the Family Ties page.
Lori
Bethel,

No need to have a subscription, because right now ancestry.com is giving
free access to the 1880 census; you can save the census image to your
hard drive, by clicking the SAVE icon on the census page.

You are now listed on the Family Ties page....
