Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I too have recieved the snow white message, three times yesterday and twice
today already. I have deleted it each time, but nervous about where it is
coming from. Are others on the Case Family list getting it?
Rosa,
Do you know the name of Susannah's husband....I have found a Susannah Taylor
that married a Luther Case in Columbus, OH on 11Nov1812. I was searching for
Luther Case, my gggg grandfather, but he was in Gallia County, OH. The
information was on <familysearch.org> .
Hope this is of some help...

SNOW WHITE VIRUS IS GOING AROUND!!
I wanted to let everyone know that we've been sent the "Snow White Virus" . We don't know where it has come from, but so far this morning we've gotten three different messages. So I'm sending this to everyone in case it has been sent on from our computer.
In the subject line it will read something to the extent of "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs the real story" and from the "from" line it will read "HaHaHa". So if you get this DO NOT OPEN IT it will come with an attachment. So delete it from your inbox and also your deleted box.
Sue,
Thanks, All I know so far is that Andrew's mother was a Susannnah. Do you
have any children listed for your couple? Jackson has been SO hard to track
down. Little long anything on his parents. But on the pension file it
listed his mother as being Susannah, and also I fount another pension file
where she (and the same unique handwriting different than other pension
files) was a mother to a George Hm Case. So,...so far we have only been
able to "guess" that Susannah was the mother of Andrew Jackson and George Hm
and also we feel that Independence Lamarr was a sister. And that they were
up in the "northern" states. but if you have any more to add or any web
sites that you might think may help in trying to "verify" my search anything
would be greatly appreciated. I did find the one your talking about the
night I fount Susannah, and we have it in the "possibly" category but like
everything else we just need more to go on.
Thanks,
Rosa

Okay,...enough,...the apology has been said. And so let's everyone just
drop this issue. I thought this web page was for genealogy stuff,...and not
"bickering" back and forth. So let's just all drop the issue and get on
with sharing our families information.
Everyone have a good Christmas.
While I'm on here,...does any one know anything about a Susannah Case she
would have possibly been born around 1800's, she had two sons that I know of
so far. Andrew and a George Hm both serving in the Civil War from being
from IN. We believe this Andrew is our gggrandpa, and we've not had any
luck in finding parents or siblings. But I did find in the Civil War
pension files a file that the handwriting was the same as a will I have of
Andrew's (also known as Jackson Case) so we believe this is in fact him.
And it listed his mother as being Susannah. They would have been in
IL,IN,Ohio,MO, and AR. (Jackson was born in 1830 in either IL or IN so his
siblings would be in the 1810's-1840's) If anyone has any kind of link to
his line, please let me know and if it is in fact the right one I'll be
happy to share information.

I think everyone understands what happened. Also, even though your grandson
needs to polish his manners, he's pretty bright for a six-year-old! Merry
Christmas (really).

Hello,
I'm sorry if you receive this many times because we're on the same lists
(LOL). Due to a couple of deaths in the family, the time restraints I have
for meeting my holiday commitments, and what-not I'm forced to go no-mail on
almost all my lists for at least the next few weeks. I hate it, but really
have no other choice.
I'll be keeping track of personal email every other day or so. If you want
to respond to this message or something comes up you're sure I'd just die if
I didn't know about it, please email me privately. It make be a little bit
before you get a response, but I will respond ASAP, I promise.
In the meantime, don't enjoy yourselves too much while I'm gone. I feel bad
enough about leaving as it is. <g>
Take care everyone, and happy holidays.

I am very sorry. I did not realize that my grandson was on my computer and
had sent that very nasty e-mail. I don't know what else to say. He will not
be on my computer as I changed my password and when he can show me that
manners are more important than proper spelling, I may allow him back in the
room where I have my computer. Again, everyone, this was a horrible error.
Dear Albumarw(a)aol.com:
How nice it must be to be perfect. I'll be sure to pay extra attention to
all your future e-mails so I'll be able to point out your mistakes - although
I'm sure no matter how hard I try, I won't be able to be as tactless and rude
as you.
Oh, by the way - it WOULD be nice if you'd learn how to use punctuation.
Your rude comment should've had a period at the end. Hope you have a Merry
Christmas under your rock.
Lori Case, Friends & Family,
God Bless You!!!
There are people out there with feelings that may not know how to spell!
I would rather know them (with feelings) than you that CAN spell that have no
heart!!
If you search your family history, as we all are doing, many of our ancestors
were illiterate.
I hope that all of my spelling was correct. Thanks List!:):):)
Patti
When someone attempts to be nice and share information that could prevent
damage to someones operating system, I think we should be thankful rather
than critical.
As a further virus note, there is also a shockwave movie virus. This new
virus spreads itself through the Outlook Address Book like the
Loveletter virus did, so it could cause great damage to mail servers.
Below is a description of the virus.
This is an Internet worm coded in Visual Basic 6 and compiled as an
executable named "CREATIVE.EXE". It carries the icon of a Shockwave Media
Player application however it is not really Shockwave.
This Internet worm may be received via email in this form:
Subject = A great Shockwave flash movie
Body = Check out this new flash movie that I downloaded just now ... It's
Great
Bye
Attachment = creative.exe
When run, this Internet worm will write a copy of itself to the local
system and then send a copy of itself via MAPI email to all users in the
address book.

==== Case-Family Mailing List ====
I realized the letter before yours was spelled incorrectly...but I did
receive two of the Snow White emails this morning...I had heard somewhere
else it was a virus, I don't know if it is true, but why take the chance..I
deleted it w/o opening it.
Afternoon, all...
Hope you'll be able to tell by readig the text in this email it is authentic
information including addresses to check the information sent. A personal
friend sent this yesterday and I printed it out and put it by the computor
because I seem to have lost my talent for remembering everything...lol
and not one of the hoax letter we receive. Bobbie has gotten a couple of
the SNOW WHITE virus emails and a within the last 2 or three months I
received the NAVIDAD virus. Only because I was aware it was a virus did
I know to delete the email unopened. Hope you receive many Christmas
blessings and none of them are the nasty puter worms or viruses.....Lois
<<
Thought I would share an email that I received today. There are 2 of these
that I have received in email so far. The first one explains about that Snow
White virus!
Bobbie
I checked all three of these out on Semantec's Virus webpage and they are
legitimate viruses which are currently circulating.
The first one- Watch out for any email with an attachment that ends with
".exe" or "scr". The attachment can be named anything; just watch for the
extension and DON'T open it; immediately delete it and then empty your
recycle bin.
The second one - The subject of the email will be "A great Shockwave flash
movie". The attachment will be "Creative.exe"
The body of the mail will ask you to check out a new flash movie that was
downloaded just now. Remove as in #1
The third one - This one uses the existing subject of the email it was sent
on. The attachment will be called "NAVIDAD.EXE"
Remove as in # 1
1. w95.hybris.gen
subject: Snowhite and the Seven Dwarfs
It modifies wsock32.dll in order to spread itself via email (to all the
addresses in the user's outlook express address book) and also overwrites
files within all zip archives on the user's hard disk with itself. When it
distributes itself via email, it has a subject line like "Enanito si, pero
con que pedazo!" or "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs -- the REAL story" and
a return address of "Hahaha <hahaha(a)sexyfun.net>".
attachment: 1. [Application: midgets.scr] (31KB) ""
For more information see:

==============================================
2. W32.Prolin.Worm.
subject: A great Shockwave flash movie
Attachment: CREATIVE.EXE
W32.Prolin.Worm is a worm that spreads via Microsoft Outlook by emailing
itself to everyone in the Outlook address book. For more information:
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.prolin.worm.html
==============================================
3. attachment named "navidad.exe"
Discovered on: November 3, 2000
Last Updated on: November 27, 2000 4:57:05 PM PST
W32.Navidad is a mass mailing worm program. The worm replies using MAPI to
all Inbox messages that contain a single attachment. This worm is able to
distribute itself via any MAPI-compliant email client, including Microsoft
Outlook. However, emails that are infected with this worm can be received by
any email client. The worm utilizes the existing email subject line and body
and attaches itself as NAVIDAD.EXE. Due to the bugs in the code, after being
executed, the worm causes your system to be unusable.

Hi List
For those researching Jonathan Case of Hoosick New York you may want to read
the July Issue of The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record starting
on page 193. William T. Ruddock a fellow Case researcher has put together
what I believe as a good case of the probable ancestry of Jonathan Case, at
the very least it presents some very good arguments of why he is not from
Simsbury CT.
Gods Grace and Peace to All

In my quest for the Mason County Kentucky Case family that was from Maryland,
I also have this census---from Mason Co. year 1820--in the home of Edward
Case it lists one foreigner not naturalized--Edward is mar. and both he and
his wife are under 26 yrs old.
Then on another 1850---Mason Co. Ky census district # 3------ I have a James
Case from Penn. age 53 he is listed as a laborer--- his wife is Elizabeth
age 51, children are--Elizabeth age 21, James age 12, Salina age 9.
Does anyone have anything on Brock or Israel and Shadrack, James, and Robert
Case from Maryland? I do see where Shadrack has been picked up in Kentucky
along with James later--but there are a dozen or more James's.

Hi Phyllis, Am responding to you re my inquiry about Henry Case of
Barkhamsted, Ct., born 1827. Edeew99 sent me some info regarding my Simsbury
ancestors... [John, Richard, Richard, Eli, Riverious, Cesters, Henry,
Lyman] . Riverious married Abigail Case d/o Jesse, s/o Jacob, s/o Joseph
Case, s/o John Case. I don't think my Henry is in the Southold family
group. Lyman P. Case of Winsted, Ct. was my ggrandfather. Linda Daniels
