Debra:
My son has the same disorder that your father had. He has had 2 operations
and still has it.
I have traced our family line back to a John W. Case born in New York around
1794 and married an Anna Aldrich abt 1816. I don't see any apparent
connection at this time.
It only seems odd that our relatives have the same disorder and have a Case
background.
Carl W. Wirth Anna Aldrich was born in Vermont.

Vicki,
No, I sure don't. Got the name of Goldsmith Case from a very old paper,
passed along by another researcher. No source given for it. However,
Goldsmith Case did marry Susannah Tatman (1788, Bourbon Co., KY), and they
lived in various counties over the next 20+ years. They were found in
Bourbon Co. (1791), Floyd Co., KY (1793), Clermont Co., OH (1802), and then
Bracken Co., KY (1810). Theophilus Case married Sarah Skidmore in 1812,
Clermont Co., OH. Theophilus served in the War of 1812 with Ohio militia.
We may be wrong about our Theophilus descending from the Long Island Cases,
but it seems the most likely at this time.
Goldsmith, of course, was the surname of Ichabod Case's (1688-1762) third
wife, and there is the thought that he might have been named for her. But it
is all just speculation. I have been stumped at this point for over 12 years
now. A real brick wall!
Thanks for writing. I appreciate your input.
Frances
Hi, Linda, my name is Phyllis, a descendant of John Case of Simsbury. (John,
John, Richard, Richard, Richard, Freeman, Hector, Carlton Henry, Mertie
Caroline).
In my search I have found a reference to a Henry whom the author believes is
a brother to John.
The book is "The American Genealogist" by George McCracken
Whole No. 134; Volume 34, No. 2 April 1958 'The Case Family of CT and Long
Island'.
McCracken believes there was a relationship between Henry of Hartford and
Southold, Long Island to John of Maspath Kills, Windsor and Simsbury, CT as
well as Richard, of Hartford, Thomas and William, both of Newtown, Long
Island.
Another book that may be of help is "Genealogy Notes: First Settlers of CT
and MA pgs. 275.300.
I do not have a link to a Henry born in the 1800's but have some notes about
a Henry A. Case who lived in Tarrifville, CT in the 1800's. He had a
brother, Edward B. My last entry for Henry was born in the 1700's.
This may all be confusing, but it may help someone.
Phyllis
Whew! I can see why you didn't list his wives and children at first! <grin>
Thanks so much. I have printed it out, and will file it with my Case notes,
"just in case".
I don't think there is any connection with my Cases, but then, you never know.
Take care, Frances

Andrew Jackson Case (known to his "AR" families by Jackson Case) was born
June 15, 1830 in Randolph County, IL.
We believe that he had 7 wives and 33 children (told to us by his sons). We
have tracked him through IL, Clark County MO, Ripley, INDIANA, (possibly
Coles, Illinois) then to Newton County, AR-the Fallsville area.
Here is his wives:
1.Mary Ann WALKER he married on Jan 13, 1848 in Clark County, MO
2.Ellen Francis MYERS he married on Aug. 7, 1865 in Ripley, IN
(possibly) Rachel Cissney married on Jan 15,1868 in Coles, Illinois
a "Sarah"
3.Rachel BLAIR no marriage date for but she owned land beside his in Newton
County, AR in 1885. And her name was remembered by one of Jackson's son's.
4.Lucinda WATKINS married on March 7, 1870 in Newton County, AR
5.Nancy CISCO have no marriage date for, but she was listed as "servant" on
the 1880 census. And they have three children together.
6.Clara Ann EDWARDS married on July 19, 1881 in Newton County, AR she was
his last wife.
These are his children:
1. Elinore (Nora) Case born 1866 in Ripley, Indiana mother Ellen Francis
Myers Case
2. Francis Case (male) born Nov. 8, 1867 in Vincennes, Lee Iowa mother Ellen
Francis Myers Case
3. Independence Case
4. Andrew Jackson (Jack) Case born 1868 in AR mother Sarah
5. Charles S. Case
6. Case (male) born Oct. 14, 1874 in Ripley, Indiana (possibly a baby who
died in infancy) mother Ellen Francis Myers Case
7. Alfred Tildon (Tildon) Case born March 16, 1877 mother Rachel
8. Emma Case mother Rachel (Tildon and Emma had the same mother)
9.Loretta (Lou) Case born 1879 in Ripley, Indiana mother Ellen Francis Myers
Case
10. Nick Case
11.Seigel Case
12. Belle Case
13. Ellen Case
14. Alice Case
15. Harrison Case
16. Perry Case
17. Jack Case
18. Jim Case
19. Thomas Case
20. Josie Case born 1876-77 in AR mother Nancy Cisco
21. Elizza or Luiza Case born 1878-79 in AR mother Nancy Cisco
22. William Clayton (Bill) Case born June 20, 1880 in AR mother Nancy Cisco
the rest of the children are the children of Clara Ann Edwards Case
23. Rutherford B. Case born May 29, 1882 in AR
24. Julie Ann (Anne) Case born Jan. 18, 1884 in AR
25. Joshua Issac (Josh) Case born Dec. 16, 1885 note: his parents had
named him Issac Joshua Case, but after his dad's death in 1901, Josh changed
his name and on all legal papers since then he is Joshua Issac Case. I
don't think anything "legal" had been written out-like a birth certificate,
social security card etc. And when he became "the man of the house" he
changed his name around for some reason. But his social security card, and
his family and his headstone reads Joshua Issac Case. (He is my great
grandpa) We didn't know this about his name until we read the census before
Jackson's death, the family Bible, and Jackson's will all has him as Issac
Case, but after Jackson's death he is then known as Joshua Issac Case.
26. Robert A. Case born Oct. 24, 1887 in AR
27. Martha Evelyn Case born Oct. 1889 in AR
28. Jasper Newton (Jape) Case born Sept. 29, 1891 in Fallsville, Newton
County, AR
29. Mary Bell Case born July 30, 1893 in AR
30.Jesse M. (J.M.) Case born July 1, 1897 in AR
31. Walter M. Case born Nov. 13, 1900 in AR
Some of the earlier children listed we haven't fount positive proof that
they aren't his, but we believe that they are. I have more information on
some of these children. So if any of these ring a bell with anyone, feel
free to correspond with me. clinefam(a)yournet.com Thanks,

Greetings,
That is the spelling of Cesters as in the Ruth Cost Duncan manuscript.
He has a son Henry listed but has no dates or other info on the page 117

Linda,
I am not sure where my Cases originated, but I suspect Long Island. The name
Theophilus seems to be the key there, as many of that line were named
Theophilus.
Theophilus's father was Goldsmith Case, who lived in KY and Ohio. He married
Susannah Tatman, 1788, Bourbon Co., KY. Their first child was Theophilus,
born 1789. (At least, I assume that he was their first). There were several
children, but I have identified only one.
I have been pretty much at a stand-still on this family for a long time
(except for the discovery of their child, Ralph's, line.). But always hope
for a break-through.
Frances

Hello, My Case quest is just beginning. I've just found out that my
gggrandfather, Henry Case, was born in 1828 and died in 1908 in Winsted, Ct.
Don't know at this stage about any of his siblings or parents, only that he
had revolutionary background, according to the Winsted library and
newspaper. I have been told by the library geneologist that all the Cases
in Litchfield County were related, being descendants of the Simsbury, Ct.
Cases. My grandfather Frederick W. Case and his brother James L. Case came
to Boston in the early 1900s. Am awaiting more info from Ct. Will keep in
touch. LDaniels, Winthrop, Ma

My Cases go back to Theophilus Case (1789-1846) and Sarah Skidmore
(1793-1876), who settled eventually in St Joseph County, Indiana. They had
10 children who survived childhood. Had varying amounts of information about
them, except for their son Ralph Case, for whom I had nothing. Recently
heard from a man who descends from Ralph Case, and he sent me a wealth of
information about that line.
Ralph Case married Charity Case, the daughter of Calvin Case and Hannah
Chipman. Charity Case was born in Essex Co., Vermont, 2 June 1834. She died
23 May 1916 in Little River, Rice Co., Kansas, which is where Ralph's family
settled.
In my notes, I have a Case family from Vermont. No name for the father, but
children's names are Lyman, Calvin, Lydia, Warren, Steven, Cassius Levi Case.
The age seems right, and the family settled in Minnesota (which is where
Ralph and Charity were married), so I wonder if the Calvin Case in that
family is the father of Charity Case.
Any thoughts?

Could you list your chidren of Theophilus and Sarah? We are searching for
our great grandpa Andrew Jackson Case (who went by Jackson his later years)
but we don't have anything on his parents. I think I've teamed up with
someone who possibly is a decendant of his sister. Her name and the name of
Jackson's daughter is the same, and the same time frames and places states
they were in were the same. So until we know more. We think Independence
Case Lamarr is an older sister of Andrew Jackson Case (Jackson) but neither
one of us has information about the parents. On some census when it asked
about Jackson's parents. He had put down that they both could read and
write and they both were born in MA. Well, in Independence's great
granddaughter's stuff. She has the birth place in just about any of the
'northern" states. And you can't always go on census records either. The
accuracy only dependended on the person that was being asked the questions.
And if they wanted to tell the truth (knowingly or not) So,...but the ages
and time frame of your couple fits into where Jackson's parents would be.
And Indiana was one of the states that Jackson had been in, in his earlier
years. So just grasping at straws but was wondering.,...
Thanks,
Rosa Cline

Sue,
Thank you for your reply to my query. I have checked my database and don't
have any of the people you refer to.
Thanks again,
Carol
Carol and Kathy,
I don't have a Case that married a Noble, but I do have a Chase that married
a Noble(s) and their son married a Case. Confused?
In Dec 1868, Oscar Chase married Lutilla Case in Meigs County, Ohio.
Oscar was the son of Abel Chase, Jr (Maine) and Esther Nobles. Esther was
was born in Ohio, the daughter of Shubael Nobles, and Elizabeth Post from
Tremont township, Rutland County, VT.
Lutilla was the daughter of Giles S. Case and Clarissa McAboy. Giles was
born in Ohio, the son of Luther (Lute) Case and Chloe Sisson. Luther Case
came to Ohio around 1820 from Connecticut. Giles also had a sister named
Lucy, and a brother named Henry - Henry died at a young age.
I don't know if this connects with either of you, but would be interested in
comparing notes if you thought there might be a connection.
