I have seen Sarah Spencer's mother listed as Tucker, Pratt & Heane, but I
believe she was Agnes Harris, dau of Bartholemew Harris (b abt 1560, Badby,
Devonshire, England, d 10 Oct 1615, Barnstapale, Devonshire) and Elizabeth
Collamore (b 2 Sept 1566, Bishop's Tawton, Devonshire). Agnes Harris was
born abt 1601, Barnstaple, Devonshire. Her 2nd husband was Wm Edwards.
I have recently joined a Bedfordshire list, as that was the home of many of
our Spencer ancestors. No luck so far but I am seeing interesting postings &
hope to luck up eventually.

This is a confusing line to be sure. I have not connected the Richard Case
that m. Elizabeth Purchase to the John Case/Sarah Spencer line - yet. I have
Richard as having ch Richard, John, Mary. "The" John Case had a brother
Richard, but I have no further data on him. "The" John Case also had sons
John & Richard. I'll study your msgs more closely tomorrow and see what I can
come up with.

Am researching the family of John Case and Susan Margaret Estep. John was
born July 12, 1812, married December 6, 1832, and died August 4, 1885. His
parents were James and Sarah Adams Case. John and Susan Margaret had seven
children: James Benjamin (1833-1920), Angeline (1835-1859), Sarah E., William
(born in 1842), Charles G. (born in 1844), Vincent (1847-1927) and Sylvester
(1849-1905). Would like to know more about James Benjamin's (my
grgrandfather) brothers and sisters. Can anyone help?

Hi all,
Sorry to post this to the list but lost some of my messages and do not
know who this information came from so the only way to get an answer is through
the list.
Last December someone put up a bunch of what looked like marriages. It
was from some kind of CNIDR search or something like that. Anyway, I found a
copy of it and it has my Phebe Case and her husband Myrick W. Reed on it but I
don't know what the numbers mean.
All the Case people were listed in the first column, then there was a
column of numbers, my Phebe's was 79, then there were the names of others that
I took as their spouses which showed my Myrick W. Reed Sr. then another column
of numbers and this was "C200 which I believe is the Soundex Code for Case if I
am not mistaken, then a final column of letters and numbers, the one with Phebe
and Myrick was "ANDB6DA".
My question to the list is this: Does anyone know for sure what these
different numbers mean and where can I go to check out where this information
came from? If anyone can help, please do so.
Thanks millions,
Duane Pierce
Hello Case Cousins:
While "scudding" through the War of 1812 Pension Application Index (M313)
at the regional office of the National Archives, I noted the following
Cases. Thought it might be of interest to someone out there who hasn't had
the opportunityv to visit the Archives. I noted only the names and location
of residence with most, but if someone has a name of interest, I will look
up any addition information, such as, name of spouse, date of birth, death,
etc.

HI!
I'm new to the list, so forgive me if this is a subject that has been beaten
to death. I checked the archives, but didn't find anything to help me. I
am looking for information on Theophilus Case b 1661 Suffolk Co NY, s/o
Henry Case & Martha Corwin.
I have that his first wife was Azubiah/Azuba Mapes bc 1660. Theo & Azuba
had Ichabod b 1688 & Theo Jr bc 1884. Azuba died c 1690. Theo Sr then
married Hannah Mapes c 1690, by whom he had William b c 1693 & John bc 1700.
Theo Sr died 26 oct 1716 in Suffolk Co NY. Is this correct? Who were the
parents of Azuba? I have not found any thing on her at all. What is the
relationship between Azuba & Hannah? Is Azuba the dau of Thomas Mapes?
Thanks
Becky Rittenhouse
Edeew99: You mentioned in a past post that you have more information on
Pelatiah Case (1768) who married Appia Loomis. They moved to Bennington,
Wyoming Co. NY. Please post for my benefit. I have been reading the list and
find no thread to my line of Case. I am related to the above Case through his

Hi John,
I'll wait with bated breath for news of your Samuel. And I won't be

Hi Scott,
I envy you being in Madison, with your access to the State Historical
Library. I wonder if you could find William and Ida CASE in the 1890 census
for IN? or the 1880? The Library has all the census index books, I think,
and the microfilm reels.
>Whaddya think? Coincidence or good possibility?
There were an awful lot of CASEs around, but it seems a definite possibility
to me. If my Thomas Day CASE were your William's uncle, and T.D.Case went to
Elkhart in 1854 and stayed there til 1875, it would seem a good chance that
the 20something William would go to stay with or near his uncle. Let us
know what you find!

I found Goldsmith Case in the 1791 Tax List for Bourbon Co., KY, 1793 Tax List
for Floyd Co., KY, 1802 Clermont Co., OH census, and 1810 Bracken Co., KY
census. He married Susannah Tatman in 1788 in Bourbon Co., KY.
Also, in Filson Club Publications No. 27, PETITIONS OF THE EARLY INHABITANTS
OF KENTUCKY to the General Assembly of Virginia 1769 to 1792, Goldsmith,
Joseph, and Separate Case all signed the same petition, putting them in the
same area at the same time. It speaks of "our County town (County being
Bourbon), The town is situate upon Stoners fork of Licking which has been
found navigable by large Boats loaded, navigating the same from the sd
town..........." There is no date on this petition (in this book, at least).
I don't have the above book, just a few copied pages.
In the 1810 Bracken Co., KY census, it lists 2 M 10-16, 1 M over 45, 1 F under
10, 2 F 10-16, 1 F over 45. Other than Goldsmith Case and his wife, I can't
identify any of these people. Theophilus would have been 20 or 21, and
presumably gone from home. Theophilus served in the War of 1812, and was
married in Clermont Co., OH on 12 Dec 1812.
I would appreciate any help in sorting out this family!
