Marjean, Thank you for posting this to the list. Mary Markendorf
(formerly Cascadden) was the widow of Hubert Cascadden. Hubert (died late
1883/early 1884) was the father of our Grandpa Fred (b. Jan. 1884). Hubert
is said to have died in a shipwreck in the lakes, possibly along with two or
three other family members. Mary was pregnant with Fred at the time of the
accident. I've have not had any luck finding out where Hubert's body ended
up or anything about the wreck yet. But I think I've relayed this story to
you before. It was just earlier this year that I found out who Mary had
married after Hubert's death. There was one man after Markendorf but I
can't think of his name at the moment.
Thanks for the information. What is its source?
Jeannine

I found a couple of Cascadden strays I cannot fit into my family yet,
perhaps they will help someone else.
