Hi List;
After searching around in Manitoba and not finding much on the family name
there, thought I would share what few items I did find.
James Robert CARSCADDEN, death registration and obit from the newspaper 1909.
Husband of Annie, died at age 69 and was working in a hotel there.
I talked with a CARSCADDEN family member that is the present day owner of one
of the funeral homes there.
T. D. CARSCADDEN was the owner 1875-1910, then it was in the hands of Bill ?
and later back in the hands of the CARSCADDEN family.
T. D. would have buried the above James Robert, but T. D. did not keep
records, or at least any that were found by the family.
I got an obit from the Winnipeg Telegram Sept. 08, 1908 for a:
John B. CARSCADEN who died in California. He owned a business called
CARSCADEN & PECK. He was a native of London, Ontario. If you would like more
info, write to Steph or me. The obit is to long to write it all.
As to James Robert CARSCADDEN he is my relative and the "R" that was missing
from the last name for about 8 years is now back in.
James Robert was born in Port Hope, Ontario on March 27, 1841, Parents:
William and Mary (Mary is a second wife)
This is an important "find", as unless the family came to Ontario in Jan. or
Feb. of 1841. It means my family was in Ontario in 1840.
So now I am going on to Port Hope and searching. Thank goodness I have a
partner in Steph, to help me out.
