Marjean suggested that my Letitia Kiskaddon, b. abt. 1795, may not
have been from Scotland, but instead a member of the following
Carskaddon line. Letitia (sometimes found Lettice or Lottie) married
John Stanford about 1822. John and Letitia lived most of their life
in Armstrong Co., PA.
Does anyone know more about the whereabouts, etc. of the daughter
Letitia noted below, to demonstrate whether she could/could not be my
ancestress- or information that other Letitia Carskaddons were born
into this line?
Was there a will, estate distribution of any kind for James
Carskaddon Sr., d ca. 1800?

James Carskaddon Sr, (ca. 1732-1800), wife was Lettice.
Tax list of 1769 Upper Paxton Township, Lancaster (now Dauphin)
County, PA
shows James Corscaden. Had children John, James, Anne, Isabel,
Catherine,
Mary, Letitia, Hugh and Jane. Moved to Northumberland County by the
1790
census, appeared in 1790 as Jas. Carscaddin, Sr. James Sr. d. ca.
1800 in
Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
From my notes:
I don't find most of those names among the
Armstrong Co. Kiskaddons,
except: there was a James Kiskaddon, b. bef. 1820, who md. Eleanor
Sloan 27 Nov. 1834 in Armstrong Co., PA.
A research colleague of mine in that area consulted with an Scottish
names expert at the annual Highland Games in Ligonier, Pa.
(Westmoreland Co.) He told her that he was sure that the Kiskaddons
in that area were originally Carskaddon, but unfortunately, he didn't
explain how he knew that to be true.
As always, would appreciate any suggestions, ideas, etc.
