Marjean you had asked me the following,
Is your Fred Cascadden the one born 10 Jan 1885 and d. Nov 1973? Also, was
his wife or daughter Maxine?
Yes, that was our Grandpa Fred (Frederic Eugene Cascadden). But Maxine
would have been his niece-in-law.
Fred's brother, Sidney Arthur Cascadden b. 31 Aug 1880 and d. 11 May 1972
married a Maud McManus.
They had three children Leona M. b. 1910, Ellen b. 1907, and Mervin S.
b. 28 May 1908 and d. 29 Sep 1982. Mervin married Maxine Raymond b. 24
June 1913 and d. 15 Jan 1989. (Our family had lived close to Mervin and
Maxine's son Neil, who has done alot of research on the family but to my
knowledge he is not on-line. I'll have to write to him to tell him of this
list).
Grandpa Fred married Anna Matilda Tucker of Elmer Michigan. In 1900 Grandpa
Fred was living in St. Ignace MI with his grandparents, in 1910 he was
living with his sister, Jane Saety, who by that time seems to have been
divorced. By the 1920 census Fred was married and living in Washington and
that was after a short stay in Montana.
Also you asked about a James H. Cascadden living nearby whose step-father
was John Welsh (1910 census for Port Huron), unfortunately I do not know
either of these men.
Also on the surname GUSTIN, I had heard that the name AUGUSTINE had been
shortened by many to the variation of GUSTIN. So either name could work.
I've got that information around here somewhere. I had heard the
possibility of out 'Mrs. Augustine' being the sister to the woman who
married David Cascadden. I just have not yet found any information to
support anything yet.
Take care,
Jeannine
