Our line has a version of this but it pertains to our Great-Grandfather
Hubert Cascadden (son of Abel and Jane Malott, Abel was Alexander's first
son with Miss Augustine, Alexander was William Henry and Elizabeth Beales
first son). They say that Hubert and his wife Mary were living in Ontario.
Hubert worked on the waters of the lakes, Mary was pregnant. Well sometime
in late 1884 Hubert's ship went down and two others from the family,
possibly a son of Hubert's and his brother all died. The Canadians picked
up the bodies of the other two but Hubert's body ended up State side. When
Mary came to claim her husbands body she gave birth to her son Frederic (our
Grandpa) in January of 1885. I'm still working on digging into this one. I
have yet to find Hubert's body in Canada or the US.

Thanks - I had no idea the 3 brothers story was widespread - must be
something that has died-out with the last generation (Carson is now 82).
