I am researching my family. This research ends at a William S(?)
Caskaden, born in November 1828 in Virginia. His family moved to North
Carolina, and I have it traced to the present. I am trying to move
beyond William. The 1850 NC Census show his mother, a W or M Caskaden,
born c. 1800 in Ireland. She was the head of household. Researching in
the local library has revealed two potential connections:
1810 Virginia Census - Thomas Scaddon of Hampshire County VA
1820 Virginia Census - Thomas Carscodden of Hampshire County VA
and
Robert Carscaden - shown in the Augusta County Court Records August 28,
1750 where he was added to the list of tithables, and
May 28, 1751, where he was on a petition for a new road from John Davis'
mill to Woods Gap.
Anyone with information about these two individuals, as well as spouse,
children, grandchildren, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
