I'd like to say hello, introduce myself and ask a question. I've been subscribed
for 2-3 weeks now and have enjoyed the insights into my family's background.
I am Carl F. Cascaddan, son of Carson Francis, son of Goldy.
Now my question: Carson passed-on a "verbal history" story told him by Grandpa
Goldy about 3 Cascaddan (sp?) brothers leaving Ireland on a freighter bound for New York.
The ship was damaged in transit and 2 brothers proceeded to Halifax on a assisting ship
while the third returned to England (?) on the damaged ship. Carson purported this to be
the family's origin in the america's. My question: has anyone heard this or a
differing version of this story and will you share it with me/us?
Thankyou.
