Wow I was going thru some unsent drafts on my account and came across this one. Don't
know if I every got anything out, but thought I'd give it a go now:
Hello Susan,
It is always neat to find distant relatives and try to tie things together. According to
my records you and your siblings were 4th cousins to my late father-in-law Arthur
Cascadden (his father was Fred - prior Hubert- prior Abel- prior Alexander the eldest son
of William Henry Cascadden - your David was the 5th child [third son] to William Henry
Cascadden and his wife Elizabeth reportedly they had 12 children) and to my husband you
are a 4th cousin once removed -so howdy cousin!! We are in the southern California area
although Arthur & Fred were born in Michigan and everyone else back to Alexander were
born in Canada. Alexander was reportedly born in PA.
Are you familiar with Ken Turner? He is a descendant of Alexander (we are from
Alexander's first marriage and he is from Alexander's second marriage). He fought
to find and preserve the Augustine/Cascadden cemetery just recently also in Ontario - cant
think of the town I'd have to find the article, but he is in Kingsville.
Anyway I'd love to share info. I'm not sure if you are diving into this or if it
is your brother and/or father. But any stories that can be recorded are always great.
Hope to be in touch.

Hi, Marjean!
I'm new to this .... but my grandmother, Wilhelmina Cascadden, wife of Cecil
Cascadden (Ruthven/Leamington, Ontario), contributed to a Cascadden family
history compilation some years ago and I find it quite intriguing. My
father, Floyd Cascadden (Essex, Ontario), is interested in doing some
further family research, but doesn't quite know how to go about it. He's 82
years old and in wonderful shape physically and mentally. He has the
greatest memory for details. He has asked for my assistance now that I've
retired from teaching. My brother, Randy, was involved with the unearthing
of the Wigle/Cascadden (hmmm, I'm missing a name) gravesite in Kingsville,
Ontario some years ago. I'm going to give you my father's and brother's
e-mail addresses. I'm sure they would be thrilled to hear from you.
Thanks so much!

I mostly wanted to test the list now that rootsweb has migrated us to
the new format, but I thought I might as well add some content at the
same time.
>From the Valley News, Van Nuys, California, 23 September 1954:
Mr. and Mrs. Meruin [Mervin] Cascadden entertained their son Pvt. Neil

Cascadden's vacation.
