Hi everyone, and welcome to the new members.
My g-g-grandfather was JOHN CASCADEN. I have no information on his
background; he seems to have spontaneously appeared from nowhere. A legend
in our family exactly matches the Malahide Cascadden family, but there's no
record of him in their history.
He was married to a woman named Elizabeth, who was born June 19, 1824. She
died (likely in childbirth) on Jan. 6, 1844. At her death, they were living
in York Twp., York Co. near Scarborough, Ontario and attended St. Paul's
L'Amareaux church in Scarborough..
Their only child was ELIZABETH CASCADEN, who was born about the time of her
mother's death. She married FRANCIS MASON of Scarborough, Ont. in March,
1864, lived in Scarborough, had 4 children, and died on Feb. 18, 1877. What
happened to her father after 1844 is unknown.
Even the slightest hint on this mysterious family would be greatly
appreciated.
